SEYDOU KAGNY gran maestro de danza y percusión africana. Proviene de la región de Casamance al sur de Senegal. Su pasión y con un don especial por el arte de la musica y la danza comienza desde muy pequeño pero podemos remarcar que su carrera profesional se inició en la escuela artística “Bugarabou “ en Saly (Senegal) en el año 2000. Durante 10 años estuvo formándose e impartiendo clases al mismo tiempo a múltiples alumnos proveniente de diferentes países del mundo (Canadá, Francia, Gran Bretaña, Japón, España etc) .
La danza va a acorde con la percusión por lo que después Seydou Kagny decidió aprender diferentes modalidades de instrumentos africanos (Bugarabou-Serouba-Doundoun …...) especializándose en “el djembe” desde el 2005 hasta nuestros días donde se le define como “maestro”.
Su técnica y creatividad le proporcionan una gran capacidad de improvisación. El público que ha tenido la oportunidad de verlo en directo le definen como “el gran maestro” con un don especial en su arte que hace llegar al público con facilidad y gran emotividad.
Inspirado por artistas como Famoudou Konate, Soungalou Coulibaly entre otros, ha dedicado toda una vida a la música su gran pasión, motivación que crece cada día con esfuerzo y confianza.
TRAYECTORIA...
Desde el año 2005 hasta el 2009 ha tocado en múltiples eventos como en el reconocido festival de música étnica de Abene en la región de Casamance (Senegal) que tiene lugar cada fin de año, así como en reconocidos hoteles en Saly centro turístico a mencionar CocoChe, Sabana, Fram, Filaguos como en la capital Dakar participando en diferentes espectáculos en el club Ayana y en el hotel "le Meridian president" entre otros. Ha formado parte como percusionista y coreógrafo en diferentes ballets reconocidos en su país como El Ballet Bougarabou donde se inició, El Ballet African de Saly y El Ballet Kaiamore.
Del 2010 al 2011 se instala en el sur del país en la región de Casamance de donde parten grande maestros e inspiradores creadores de su arte. Forma su propio grupo llamado Sitokoto . Sigue trabajando en diferentes espectáculos a mencionar el reconocido carnaval de kafountine con grupos de la zona como son Terenyajas y Karmala.
Ha imartido clases durante toda su trayectoria profesional a múltiples alumnos de todas las partes del mundo.
En el 2012 se traslada a Gambia donde trabaja juntamente con El Ballet Dounia en difernentes centros turísticos del País.
En el 2013 colaboró como autor-compositor de la banda sonoroa de un documental llamado "El Baobab de los sueños" donde se aprecia su voz a la vez que toca ritmos de djembe junto con la kora. Documental que forma parte de un proyecto de sensibilizacion enfocado a la educación para el desarrollo, en colaboración con una organización española.
En 2014 aterriza en España con gran motivación de expandir su arte y cultura tradicional única en el mundo. Ha colaborado con grandes artistas y en diferentes eventos.
DESDE EL 2015 HASTA LA ACTUALIDAD Ha creado y dirigido el grupo llamado Bamba Africa donde la percepción de los sonidos africanos mediante la kora, flauta guitarra y diferentes tamtam no dejan desapercibidos al espectador. Dándose a conocer en sitios como la sala mítica el búho real entre otras como el Moe Club, ObaOBa, Collage etc. Ha participado en la gran cabalgata de Madrid en el año 2015 Y 2016. Participado en el Festival Multicultural celebrado todos los años en Lavapiés. Ha tocado en acústico en diferentes sitios como CASA PACA en Madrid .
Ha grabado en estudio dos temas uno en versión reggae y otro en base a la música tradicional africana mandinka donde la percusión y su voz son partícipes. Su arte no sólo se queda en el djembe canta y compone en diferentes dialectos africanos, francés, ingles y español.
Ha tocado en diferentes festivales como en el décimo aniversario Festival Africano en Madrid así como en otros en Europa. El último festival en el que ha participado con el grupo DOCAKENE has sido en el FESTIVAL INTERNCIONAL DE REGGAE ROTOMTOM 2017 como solista percusionista. Durante el mes de diciembre del 2017 Seydou a tocado en el Teatro Español de Madrid y ha participado en el CORTOMETRAJE del reconocido director de cine ALEX DE LA IGLESIA "Una vez en la vida" como figurante-percusionista.

Es un artista con un gran potencial, la improvisación y creación le definen fiel a su música africana y abierto a componer y fusionarlo con otras modalidades.
SEYDOU KAGNY is a great drummer and dancer master from west Africa. He is coming from the southern Casamance region of Senegal. His passion and with a special gift for the art of music and dance starts very small but can remark that his professional career began in art school "Bugarabou" in Saly (Senegal) in 2000. For 10 years he was forming and conducting classes simultaneously to multiple students from different countries (Canada, France, Britain, Japan, Spain etc).
The dance will commensurate with percussion so after Seydou Kagny decided to learn different forms of African instruments like (Bugarabou-Serouba-Doundoun etc. specializing in "djembe" since 2005 until today where it is defined as " master".
His technique and creativity provide a great ability to improvise. The public has had the opportunity to see him live define him as "the great master" with a special gift in his art that reach the public with ease and great emotion.
Inspired by artists like Famoudou Konate, Soungalou Coulibaly among others, has devoted a lifetime to music his passion, motivation grows every day with effort and trust.
CAREER...
From 2005 until 2009 he has played in multiple events and renowned festival of ethnic music of Abene in the region of Casamance (Senegal) which takes place every year end, as well as renowned hotel in resort in Saly mention CocoChe , Savannah, Fram, Filaguos as in the capital Dakar participating in different shows at the Ayana club and the big hotel "le Meridian president" among others. He has been part as a percussionist and choreographer in different ballets recognized in his country like Ballet Bougarabou where he started, Saly African Ballet and Ballet Kaiamore.
From 2010 to 2011 he moved to the south in the Casamance region where you can catch great teachers and inspiring artists of his art. Form his own group called Sitokoto. Keep working on different shows to mention the renowned carnival Kafountine with groups in the area such as Terenyajas and Karmala.
He has taught throughout his career to many students from all over the world.
In 2012 he moved to Gambia where he works together with The Ballet Dounia difernentes resorts in the country.
In 2013 he worked as an author-composer of the band Sonoroa a documentary called "The Baobab of Dreams" where his voice is appreciated while playing djembe rhythms with the kora. This documentary is part of a sensitization project focused on development education, in collaboration with an Spanish organization.
In 2014 lands in Spain with a lot of motivation to expand his traditional art and culture unique in the world . He has collaborated as a percussionist in various African dance courses in places like the Asura theater and Amor de Dios center .
FROM 2015 TO TODAY He has created and directed the group called Bamba Africa where the perception of African sounds through the kora, guitar flute and different tamtam do not leave the viewer unnoticed. Making known in places like the mythical hall the real owl among others like the Moe Club, ObaOBa, Collage etc. He participated in the great cavalcade of Madrid in 2015 and 2016. Participated in the Multicultural Festival held every year in Lavapiés. He has played acoustic in different places like CASA PACA in Madrid. He has recorded two songs reggae version and traditional African music where the percussion and his voice are participants. He has played in different festivals such as the tenth anniversary African Festival in Madrid as well as in others in Europe. The last festival in which he has participated with the group DOCAKENE has been in the INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF REGGAE ROTOMTOM 2017 as soloist percussionist. During the month of December we have played Seydou at the Teatro Español in Madrid and participated in the SHORT FILM OF ALEX DE LA IGLESIA once in a lifetime as a percussionist-helper
